upcoming infrastructure

An upcoming riverfront landmark is ICONSIAM, a mega mixed-use project jointly developed by Siam Piwat, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation (MQDC) and CP Group. Located on the Thonburi side of the river, the project is set to be a new global travel destination, comprising over 500,000 sq.m. of retail space, a river park, an indoor floating market, ICONSIAM Heritage Museum, a sports complex, a world-class auditorium, a large theater, a theme park, and super luxury riverfront condominiums. Takashimaya, the premium Japanese department store, will open its first department store in Thailand here. ICONSIAM is currently under construction and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.

The Gold Line Monorail will link at Krung Thonburi BTS Station, one station away from Saphan Taksin BTS Station, offering easy access to ICONSIAM. This monorail line is expected to start operation at the end of 2019.
