Location

Ideo Sathorn-Wongwianyai is strategically situated in the Thonburi area, only 140 meters from Wongwianyai BTS Station. The completion of BTS Dark Green Line extension from Saphan Taksin BTS Station to Wongwianyai BTS Station in 2009 has brought about a major transformation in the Thonburi area. Several condominium developments have sprung up along Krung Thonburi Road, offering alternative affordable residences for people who work in Bangkok’s CBD but cannot afford to buy a property there.

The area is considered a popular residential location among both Thais and expatriates as it offers convenient access to the city center. From Wongwianyai BTS Station, it takes less than 15 minutes on the BTS to Chong Nonsi (4 stops away), one of Bangkok’s major office hubs, and only 10 minutes to Surasak (3 stops away), home to notable private schools like Bangkok Christian College and Assumption Convent Silom School.

In addition, there are several other amenities in the neighborhood for the convenience of residents. Retail projects in the area include Sena Fest, Platform Wongwianyai, Vue and LHONG 1919, providing fine dining and shopping options. Charoenrat Market and Wongwianyai Market are also located nearby, offering reasonably-priced goods and food.

Well-known hospitals including Samitivej Thonburi, Taksin Hospital, Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital and Somdet Chaophraya Hospital which are all under 10 minutes away by car.

All these conveniences create a constant demand for residential properties in the Thonburi neighborhood, making it an attractive area in which to live in and invest. Properties in Thonburi enjoy around 4-6% capital growth per annum.

upcoming infrastructure

A new landmark in the Thonburi area that everyone has been waiting for is ICONSIAM, a mega mixed-use project jointly developed by Siam Piwat, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation (MQDC) and CP Group. Scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018, the project is set to be a new global travel destination, comprising over 500,000 sq.m. of retail space, a river park, an indoor floating market, ICONSIAM Heritage Museum, a sports complex, a world-class auditorium, a large theater, a theme park, and super luxury riverfront condominiums. Takashimaya, the premium Japanese department store, will open its first department store in Thailand here. Property values in the Thonburi area are expected to greatly benefit from the completion of ICONSIAM.

In addition, ICONSIAM Group is building Gold Line Monorail to provide convenient access to the project for their customers. The Gold Line Monorail will link between BTS Dark Green Line (at Krung Thonburi Station) and Future MRT Purple Line. The first phase of Gold Line Monorail will have three stations including Krung Thonburi Station, Charoen Nakhon Station (ICONSIAM) and Klong San Station. Currently, the project has already received Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval.

On the plot adjacent to ICONSIAM, there is a plan to develop Bangkok Observation Tower which will stand 459 meters above the city. Once completed, it will become Southeast Asia’s tallest observation tower and the sixth tallest observation tower globally.

In the future the Thonburi area is also planned to become one of Bangkok’s transportation hubs with interchange stations between mass-transit lines. Future mass-transit lines planned in the area include the MRT Purple Line extension (Tao Poon – Rat Burana) and SRT Dark Red Line (Hua Lamphong – Bang Bon). Both lines will link to the existing BTS Dark Green Line at Wongwianyai Station where Ideo Sathorn-Wongwianyai is located.
