Thonglor

Soi Thonglor (Sukhumvit Soi 55) is one of Bangkok's most fashionable streets. Home to trendy shops, boutiques and world-class cuisine, it includes the area around Sukhumvit Road from Soi 49-57 and 32-40.

The primary public transportation hub is the BTS (Skytrain) Thonglor Station. Public ferry boats are available at the Thonglor Boat Station along the Saen Saep Canal. A north-south monorail line (The Grey Line) along Soi Thonglor is planned.

Outstanding restaurants include Kosirae, (Korean BBQ), Gokfayuen (Hong Kong wonton noodles), Ginzado (Japanese BBQ), Broccoli Revolution (international vegan dishes), Khua Kling + Pak Sod (Southern Thailand cuisine), Toby's (Australian-style breakfast), After You Dessert Cafe (honey toasts and kakigori) and Patisserie Rosie.

Plenty of nightlife options are available. Recommended are Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar, The Iron Fairies, Bombay Blues, Rabbit Hole, and Nunglen & Escobar.

Leisure activities are available for the entire family: Thonglor Art Space offers concerts, exhibitions, crafts workshops and film screenings. The Racquet Club, a family exercise center, includes fitness equipment, tennis, badminton and squash courts, a swimming pool and more. RSM Academy is a well-known Thai boxing school. Health Land Spa & Massage is popular with local Thais and foreigners. Fashionistas will want to visit the flagship store of local fashion designer, Monlada.  Nearby Benjasiri Park features an ornamental lake and contemporary sculptures by Thai artists, The Science Centre for Education, near BTS Ekkamai, is the home of Bangkok Planetarium.
