Ananda Development

Ananda Development Public Company Ltd. is a major Thailand property developer. Founded in 1999, its core business is the development of condominiums near mass transit stations, and townhouses and detached housing projects in greater Bangkok. Ananda also provides management, brokerage, and construction services, and manufactures and distributes building materials. One of the best known property developers in Thailand, its project brands include Ashton, Ideo, Ideo Q, Venio, Elio and Unio condominiums, BluCove, Unio Town and Arden townhouses, and Airi, Artale and Atoll detached housing estates.

Since being listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2012, Ananda has aggressively expanded its project portfolio, launching new projects worth THB 41 billion in 2017. As of December 2017, Ananda had completed 31 condominium and 14 detached housing projects. Sixteen new projects were announced for 2018, including several with its joint venture partner Mitsui Fudosan, one of Japan's largest property developers. Condominiums and townhouses comprise approximately 85 percent of Ananda's total project value.

Ananda has received numerous industry awards for its projects and business acumen, including an Enterprise Innovation Award in 2018 from the Asia Internet of Things Business Platform for its utilisation of artificial intelligence in construction management, inspection and scheduling, and 2017 Asia Property Awards for  Best Developer and Best Luxury Condo Development award (for Ashton Residence 41).

Key executive staff include:

  • Chairman of the Board Dr. Narongchai Akrasane, appointed in 2017, formerly Thailand's Minister of Energy, 2014-2015;
  • Board Vice-Chairman and Audit Committee chairman Mr. Poolsak Tansitthipun;
  • President and Chief Executive Officer Chanond Ruangkritiya, recipient of Obermatt CEO of the Year gold awards in 2017.

At the end of 2017, Ananda Development had registered capital of THB 333.3 million. 2017 revenue was THB 12.67 billion. Its share price has consistently traded at about THB 5 per share since 2016. Shares are widely held, with the top ten shareholders controlling 7.14 percent. A 2017 THB 3 billion bond offering has been rated BBB / Stable by Tris Rating. Unit presales in 2017 totaled THB 34.9 billion, including THB 10 billion from overseas buyers.
